Teen Therapy in Santa Barbara

If you are a younger person considering therapy, welcome. I’m here for you. As a therapist for adolescents, I provide specialized listening and guidance to help you feel your best and be your best.

Teen therapy has the potential to be one of the most important things that you can do to guide yourself towards a beautiful future.

About

I meet with teenagers in therapy with compassionate listening and strength-based, tactful guidance that helps to get underneath the veneer of adolescent toughness and support teens to thrive as their best and most authentic selves. Of course, most teens don’t begin therapy because they want to be their best, rather they are likely at one of the lowest moments they have ever experienced. Having never been through something like this they may feel panic or hopelessness. Therapy for teens can help normalize some of the despair that all of us feel and teach them how to find their way through difficult emotions.

Themes

Teen therapy tends to focus on social anxiety, solving emotional challenges, having better relationships, and improving peer connections.

Of course, each person is unique. I will adapt to meet you where you are—even if that means meeting you at a very low place so that we can move beyond it.

If it is right for you, we can explore themes related to intimate relationships, purpose, healthy sexual or gender expression, boundaries, friendships, parents, loyalty, bullying, athletics, and academics.

The Right Fit

It is important that teens in therapy feel understood, supported, and encouraged. I work with teens with anxiety, depression, anger, social isolation, adhd, and addiction issues.

As a therapist for teens I use interpersonal human connection, humor, and real talk to meet teens in a language they understand.

I offer consultations that allow for teenagers or their parents to ensure that I am the right fit.
