Individual Therapy
A little more room
to be yourself.
At your own pace
You don’t have to
arrive with answers.
Perhaps something feels difficult to name. Perhaps you know exactly what hurts. We can start there.
Therapy offers time to listen to your experience—and room to discover what might change.
Let’s talk ↗What might bring you here
Anxiety, grief, a difficult transition, or patterns that keep returning. You may simply want to feel more connected to yourself and the people you love.
How we begin
Bring your questions, uncertainty, and whatever feels most present. Our first conversations give us space to understand what you need and whether working together feels like a good fit.
What sessions can feel like
A thoughtful conversation at a pace we find together. I bring curiosity, compassion, and clinical experience; you bring knowledge of your own life.
In-person therapy in Santa Barbara.
Online sessions throughout California.

A relationship we build together
How I work
My approach is humanistic and person-centered. I bring curiosity, compassion, and clinical experience; you bring knowledge of your own life. Our work develops through that relationship.
Depending on your needs, we may draw on practical tools from cognitive behavioral therapy, attention to the body and nervous system, or exploration of attachment and relationship patterns. A trauma-informed approach keeps your pace and choices central.
For clients who find it helpful, animal-assisted therapy with Sophie can offer another source of grounding and connection. We’ll keep talking about what feels useful and adjust the work together.

Room to begin
Our first conversations
You don’t need to tell your whole story at once.
Before we meet
You’ll receive intake paperwork to complete online, including background information, consent forms, and space to share what brings you to therapy.
When we meet
We’ll talk about what has been difficult, what is working, and what you hope might change. We’ll also discuss confidentiality, session frequency, and whether working together feels like a good fit.
As we continue
We’ll revisit your goals and adjust the pace as the work unfolds. Progress might mean naming a need, noticing a familiar reaction, or finding more choice in how you respond. Your questions and feedback are part of the process.
